As part of Main Line Health, we provide you the services of an exceptional team of highly skilled and dedicated individuals. While each staff member is a specialist in his or her chosen field, we all share a common commitment to your good health and well-being.
Providing a safe environment for patients, staff and the community is integral to our focus of delivering high-quality care. Main Line Health requires visitors to obtain a temporary visitor's badge from our Greeter Service Ambassadors located at the main entrance of our hospitals. A government-issued ID (state ID, driver's license, passport, etc.) is required to receive a visitor's badge.
This is an overview of our most important hospital policies for patients and visitors. Complying with these rules keeps Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital a safe, healthy, and comfortable place for all of our patients and their loved ones.
For more information on your stay at this and any of our other hospitals, please read through the patient hospital guide. A copy will also be provided to you upon admission.
Visitation policy
Effective May 22, 2023, two visitors at a time are permitted between the hours of 12 - 8 p.m., seven days a week. Children must be accompanied by an adult, and visiting after 4 p.m. is strongly recommended for their safety. Visitors will continue to sign in at the front entrance.
Visiting policy
Your family and visitors are welcome and are important to the recovery process. We have updated our visitation policy, effective October 19, 2022. For our patients’ successful rehabilitation, as well as their safety and well-being, their clinical team may need to limit the number of visitors and the time of their visits so as not to interfere with treatment schedule or resting periods.
We also ask visitors to please treat our patients, their families and our staff in a considerate, courteous and cooperative manner, respecting the culture, values and beliefs of all who receive and deliver care. This includes dressing appropriately. Shirts and shoes must be worn at all times.
Here are some additional guidelines for visitors to ensure the comfort and safety of all patients.

Visitors please DO:
A smoke-free hospital
Bryn Mawr Rehab is a smoke-free facility. While people have the right to smoke in their own homes, all patients at Bryn Mawr Rehab have the right to avoid potentially harmful second-hand smoke while they’re recovering, so there is no smoking in the hospital or on the hospital grounds. This is in line with our basic mission of helping people regain and maintain optimum health.
Public restrooms
Please do not use the bathrooms in patient rooms. They are reserved for patients to protect their health. Public restrooms are located throughout the hospital.
Rooming in
Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital makes accommodations for the parents and guardians of adolescent patients to stay with their child during the inpatient rehabilitation stay. For more information, contact your care manager.
Independent Living Unit (ILU)
Our four-room, home-like ILU is arranged like an apartment so you can become acclimated to living at home. With the recommendation of your patient care team, you and your family may stay overnight in the ILU to help develop and re-establish a routine. Your occupational therapist can provide you more information about the ILU.

At Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital, we’re just as passionate about supporting the broader community and preventing debilitating injuries as we are about helping our patients recover. Within the hospital walls, we host support groups and events to help patients and their families work through the challenges of recovery and celebrate the small victories achieved throughout their journey.
As each patient works to heal emotionally, mentally and physically, we provide the support they need off campus as well. Our active outreach includes preventive education, wellness programs and scholarships. We also work with the larger community to help people in need who are physically or cognitively challenged.
Our award-winning community programs include:
We advocate for issues affecting our patients and community on the local, state and national level, and create fun and informative community events to spread understanding of various conditions and promote a healthful life. Through membership and active participation, we also support the work of a broad range of local, state, and national groups. Bryn Mawr Rehab supports organizations including:
To aid patients who can no longer afford to continue their care with us, we have grants for qualified applicants that help them continue their therapy, follow-up care, and get needed prosthetic or assistive devices. This fund is supported through the generosity of community donors, Delaware Valley businesses, foundations, and our extended hospital family.
Bryn Mawr Rehab also offers a wide range of volunteer opportunities, as well as a shadowing program in a variety of disciplines.
Because the Bryn Mawr Rehab community is so strong, people often continue to participate in events and programming even after they’re healed or have achieved independence. Our staff, patients, organizational partners, and volunteers make up a network of thousands, all contributing to a better quality of life for everyone, both on and off the Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital campus.
