Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery (MIGS)

Advanced treatment for pelvic pain and benign gynecological disorders

For women dealing with chronic pelvic pain and complex, benign (noncancerous) gynecological conditions, we offer evaluation and treatment by specialty-trained minimally invasive gynecologic surgeons (MIGS). Our MIGS surgeons are board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology and fellowship-trained with additional experience in the management of complex gynecologic conditions, such as endometriosis and fibroids, and providing minimally invasive approaches when surgery is indicated. Beyond their clinical expertise, they bring genuine compassion and personalized treatment strategy to each patient relationship.

Minimally invasive surgical approaches have been shown to reduce blood loss while also minimizing pain, infection and the use of narcotics during surgical recovery

What is minimally invasive gynecologic surgery?

Minimally invasive gynecologic surgery may include laparoscopic approaches in which surgery is performed through small incisions (cuts) with "minimal" damage to the body. It may also include robotic-assisted gynecologic surgery, which is also done through small incisions but with the assistance of a 3D-magnified view of the surgical area and a robotic arm and instruments that help the surgeon perform with extreme precision. Minimally invasive surgical approaches have been shown to:

  • Reduce blood loss
  • Minimize pain, infection, and the use of narcotics
  • Shorten the length of hospital stay

We also treat abnormal uterine bleeding and uterine adhesions.

When appropriate, we use robotic gynecologic surgery to assist in delicate areas requiring extreme precision.
