Facial feminization surgery refers to surgical techniques that are used to reshape masculine facial features to achieve a more feminine appearance. These techniques can produce subtle but distinct changes in the shape or size of the nose, forehead, brow, hairline, lips, chin, cheeks, or jawline.

Patients with persistent gender dysphoria may wish to consider one or more facial feminization procedures if hormone therapy does not produce the degree of desired changes in facial features.

The goal of gender-affirming surgery is to help transgender and gender expansive people align their physical anatomy with their gender identity. While surgery is not a part of everyone's goals or transition, gender-affirming surgeries can provide an important avenue of treatment for people with gender dysphoria.
