Inpatient Cancer Rehab
Inpatient Brain Cancer Rehabilitation Program
A comprehensive, multidisciplinary program focused on the unique short-term rehabilitation needs of patients with tumors and cancers of the brain. The program addresses functional impairments resulting from tumor surgery, chemotherapy and radiation therapy. Through the program, we address the effects of brain tumors and cancers, in areas such as:
- Bowel and Bladder
- Cognitive impairments
- Mobility
- Self-care
- Psychosocial adjustment
- Behavioral impairments
- Pain
Goals include functional and mobility (movement) training; strength, balance and endurance activities; psychological counseling and preparations for discharge to home.
Additional supports, unique to our program, include:
- Brain Injury patient and family education
- Behavior management program
- Brain Injury support group
Inpatient Spinal Cord Cancer Rehabilitation Program
A comprehensive, multidisciplinary program focused on the unique short-term rehabilitation needs of patients with tumors and cancers of the spinal cord. The program addresses functional impairments resulting from tumor surgery, chemotherapy and radiation therapy. Through the program, we address the effects of spinal cord tumors and cancers, in areas such as:
- Bowel and Bladder
- Sexual function
- Autonomic function (involuntary body functions, such as heartbeat, blood flow, breathing and digestion)
- Mobility
- Self-care
- Psychosocial adjustment
- Pain
Goals include functional and mobility (movement) training; strength, balance and endurance activities; psychological counseling and preparations for discharge to home.
Additional supports, unique to our program, include:
- Spinal cord patient education series
- Physician-led spinal cord follow-up clinic
- Spinal cord support group
Inpatient Cancer-related Debility Rehabilitation Program
A comprehensive, multidisciplinary program focused on the unique short-term rehabilitation needs of patients experiencing changes in functional independence after cancer-related surgery, chemotherapy or radiation. Through the program, we address the effects of cancer and cancer-related treatments, in areas such as:
- Bowel and Bladder
- Cognitive impairments
- Mobility
- Self-care
- Psychosocial adjustment
- Behavioral impairments
- Endurance, posture and breathing
- Pain
Goals include improving strength and endurance, pain management, cognitive function, coping and functional independence through a variety of traditional and unique services.
